Southern Africa Searchlight (Horizon Scanning) Project

The SA Node Horizon Scanning project (funded by the Rockefeller Foundation) aims to identify early signals that could have long-term implications for poor and vulnerable communities, and present a diversity of opinions and perspectives across a range of topics (poverty, development, donor issues, social, economic, political, environmental, science, technology and innovation). Each month trend monitoring newsletters are prepared which outline various themes, patterns, and concepts that provide early indications of how various driving forces might intersect and interact with one another over time. In addition to developing and publicising these newsletters, the project aims to build and link together networks of individuals and cross-cutting institutions that can highlight how the complex, sometimes unconnected findings of today, might fit together and constitute the new realities of tomorrow.

You/your organisation could either forward material relevant to the Southern African region (we are particularly interested in material not appearing in mainstream media) or write-up commentaries on any of the articles of interest. Guest editorials are all also welcome.
