Western Cape Launch of the 2012 State of the Future Report

The Western Cape 2012 State of the Future launch took place during the evening of 29 November at the Mostertsdrif Manor House of the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (Stias). The event was attended by approximately 40 people including many M.Phil Futures Studies alumni, as well as a good mix of business, academia and public sector people.
Tanja Hichert of the SA Node gave a short presentation on the publication and the work of the Node, whilst the guest speaker, Dr Oonsie Biggs of the Stockholm Resilience Centre and Stias fellow, gave a fascinating talk on Complexity, Resilience and Regime Shifts. There was some excellent, high quality audience participation and discussion thereafter.
